Best Clothing Shops In Truckee California

There are many wonderful clothing shops in Truckee here are a few:

Bass:

Bass is a clothing store from men and women. They sell everything from jewelry, to sunglasses. I really love this store even though it really isn't for teenagers... The shoes/clothes/just about everything in the store is super cute and they are always having sales.

Location: 12047 Donner Pass Rd B2&3,

Truckee CA 96161

Dressed:

Dressed is a small boutique in downtown Truckee. Have the latest fashions in their store year round. They have amazing jewelry and beautiful shirts and dresses. This is my favorite clothing store in Truckee by far! They are a little pricey so I warn you, but its well worth it!!

Marilyn's Catwalk: I sadly could not find the logo for this boutique. But during the summer they have the cutest dresses in the whole town!! I love their maxi dresses!!

Kalifornia Jean Bar:

The Kalifornia Jean Bar is one of my favorite stores in town. They mainly sell jeans. But they also sell really cute tops. They also sell Toms and some head scarfs. The shop itself has a bunch of vintage cameras and things like that in it, the atmosphere is awesome. The shop owners are super nice and always are there to help you out.

Treetop Adventure Park at Grandlibakken

The Treetop Adventure Park at Grandlibakken is a ropes course high up in the trees. The staff are extremely helpful, kind, and funny and the course is gorgeous.

How It Works:
When I went to the Treetop Adventure Park I was going with a few friends for a birthday party. When we got there I saw a smaller park with lots of smaller children on it. I remember thinking 'Is this it?' But I found out it wasn't. Once we had gotten into our harnesses and helmets, we walked down a dirt trail and there it was, four beautiful courses. At some rope courses, you have a belayer. This time you do it all yourself. You have these clips on your harness that always have to be clipped. You can only open one at a time so you never fall.

Courses:
The courses are designed to get you out of your comfort zone. They consist of zip-lines, and wooden bridges. They have four courses, one easy, two medium, and one hard. They also have an younger kid one. Each course is very different and go from 15-50 feet in the air!

'Pink course - is designed to be the next step or transition from the beginner courses. Eight different bridges including a zip line finish will ease you into the Intermediate/Advanced zone and prepare you for the intermediate courses.'

'Orange Course – is an intermediate course that has many of the most fun and exciting events you'll ever find in an aerial adventure park. Check it out!'

'Yellow Course – is the Canopy Tour course in the Intermediate/Advanced Zone. It contains eight different events with four zip lines totaling 500'. You will also walk across a 120' suspension bridge between "The Twins", two gorgeous twin Cedars estimated to be 600 years old'

'Blue Course – is the advanced course for those looking for the most challenging bridges and events. Comprised of 9 different events including a 100' and 300' zip line, this course should challenge even the most adventurous'

Over-All Experience

My over all experience at Treetop Adventure Park was nothing but simply amazing! I had so much fun! I really did get out of my comfort zone. I was really scared at first that the cables would break but now that I think about it, that was a silly thought. I really would love to go back to this rope course!!

Truckee/Tahoe Ski Areas And My Rating

Boreal

Boreal is a very small mountain and is known for their parks. They have multiple parks and usually have a half pipe. They also do a program called Woodward. Woodward is an indoor training facility for people who do park competitions.

Homewood Mountain Resort

Homewood is a smaller ski resort with a killer view! The ski resort is right on Lake Tahoe so when you go up to the top you get an amazing view! They have parks and runs for all ages. I know that this is one of my dad's favorite ski resorts in our area.

Kirkwood   www.kirkwood.com

Ski Area Map
Kirkwood is one of the biggest ski resorts that we have in this area. I haven't skied this one, but I have been told it also has an amazing view of Lake Tahoe and a variety of runs.
Sugar Bowl

The first time I ever skied it was a Sugar Bowl. I was 7 and don't really remember very much of it at all but, I really liked the staff and the teachers that taught me how to ski! But after that first time, I still haven't skied there again.

Alpine Meadows

Alpine Meadows is the place where I learned to ski. It was every Sunday and I had a class. They have an awesome learning school for kids and adults who want to learn how to ski. The mountain is not very big and has a few main runs. But there are many gullies and places in between the trees. Alpine Meadows was bought last year by Squaw Valley Ski Resort and now you get amazing deals on either one. If you buy a pass there you can ski both mountains with one pass! The lodge is very comfy and has yummy food. They have two parks, one has much smaller jumps and is just in general quite small. The other one has very large jumps and is a great park in my opinion.

Squaw Valley USA

This is my favorite ski resort in the area. IT IS HUGE AND VERY POPULAR! There are almost always a lot of people there. The runs are super fun and there is everything from black diamonds to green circles. The village is amazing. It has a variety of shops and restaurants. And you can stay right in the village rather then finding a hotel. High camp has some amazing restaurants. They also have a pool and hot tub and an ice skating rink in the winter(it's a roller skating rink during the summer).

Heavenly

Heavenly is a large mountain as well, I have not skied here but I have great things about it. It also has a great view of Lake Tahoe.

Truckee Treat Box

Photo from sierrasun.com
If you ever feel like a super yummy treat, stop by the Treat Box! They have an amazing selection of all treats. They have donuts, ice cream, cakes, brownies, sandwiches, coffee, a refrigerator full of yummy drinks, they even have gluten free items!!! The staff is super nice and helpful. The bakery is quite small and is located in a small strip mall in the middle of Truckee by 7 Eleven. The restaurant is as I said small with a few tables and a bar by the window. The ice cream is located to the right when you first walk in and all the sweets are in a large case below the register.  They also make cakes for birthdays. The food and treats are reasonably priced and everything is delicious! I totally recommend that you stop in!
